Sarah Elliott creates original oil paintings and etchings of dream-like figures in a Tasmanian Landscape. Sarah paints a figure in a boat or looking out into the landscape as a symbol of change and growth, she often paints a girl with red hair as she has a daughter with red hair.
Sarah was born in England and her work often carries themes of migration and a sense of belonging and ‘home’. Sarah began painting as a child, as her mother is a painter, and has her BFA from Melbourne University.
Sarah began her stall at Salamanca 11 years ago and has since then created a substantial unique and original body of work sold in galleries and shops, and has original work in private collections, across Australia and overseas.
