Kay designs and hand makes contemporary wood jewellery utilising salvaged and reclaimed Tasmanian native timbers.
The metal accents are created using recycled silver. Each piece is sealed with 100% linseed oil, a natural oil that enhances and protects the wood and leaves a gorgeous matte finish.

Hand carved gem art, native gemstones and finished jewellery.
DG Wearable Art showcases Sapphires, Tasmania’s premium gemstone, other gemstones that are native to Tasmania (Zircon, Spinel, Topaz and quartz), and some non-Tasmanian precious and semiprecious stones. DG Wearable Art also features carved gems, faceted gems and finished jewellery pieces incorporating his gem art. All gemstones are carved and/ or faceted locally by Des.
Presently he is one of only two gem carvers in Tasmania, and the only gem artist working with transparent stones.
