Popglass Jewellery is designed and handmade by Emily Whitton.

Emily is a local Tasmanian who grew up in Evandale, in Northern Tasmania and did a Visual Arts degree at UTAS. Being a student, and needing extra cash, her dad suggested working for him, cutting glass up for earrings. Once she finished her degree and graduated she then became her dad's apprentice.

Her father ran Tasmanian Stained Glass for 30 years, so he taught her the ropes of glass fusing. Popglass was born when she then set up her own studio and started to design and make her own range of fused glass jewellery.

'The studio is where the magic happens....lots of glass ideas, fusing, creating and music flow freely', she says.

'Now 25 years later I find myself at Salamanca market selling fused glass Lollie's including jelly snakes, teeth, liquorice allsorts and freckles.'

'It is an absolute pleasure to be a part of the market and show people the beauty of fused glass.'
