The Edge of Nature Tasmania
The Edge of Nature are based in Franklin, Tasmania, and all their products are created in their studio at home. The owners, Ed and Barb Ramsay, take pride in creating one-of-a-kind pieces of art that are inspired by the nature that surrounds us. Their aim is to enhance the natural beauty of the timber they work with, and they put their hearts and souls into every piece that is created.
Their wombats, echidnas, seals and platypus - both life sized and miniature - are made from Tasmanian timbers such as huon pine, sassafras or myrtle.
At The Edge of Nature, every piece is cut from the logs on their property and pass it through only the hands of a Ramsay until it reaches their customers. This ensures that every piece that is created is of the highest quality and crafted with love and attention to detail.
Recently Barb has finished her Children's picture book." The Wonderful Wombats of The Huon Valley", look out for it at the markets.
You can also visit The Edge of Nature at their showroom which is open to the public at 45 Smyley Street, Franklin 7113 from Wednesday to Saturday.
