Apply to be in the Market Table

Applications to trade in the Market Table area of Salamanca Market have now closed. Please contact the Market team if you wish to discuss your application.

 

Sites within the Market Table will be offered to eligible permanent licenced stallholders for the next 12 months commencing on the 2nd of November 2024.  The cost to trade in the Market Table will be as per the Salamanca Market Fees and Charges 2024-25*, less the cost of your licenced site fees.  The following example costs are provided as a guide:

  • A 3 x 3 site @ per square metre charge of $14.17 x 9 = $127.53
  • A 4 x 4 site @ per square metre charge of $14.17 x 16 = $226.72
  • A 5 x 5 site @ per square metre charge of $14.17 x 25 = $354.25

Allocation of stalls in the Market Table area will be subject to stallholder mix, availability of power and size of operation with no single site to exceed 27 square metres. Casual stallholders are not eligible to express interest through this process and will be allocated across the market including potentially to address gaps in the Market Table area as per the current process.

Those permanent stallholders who wish to trade in the Market Table will need to complete the Expression of Interest (EOI).

Responses will be assessed by the market team at City of Hobart.  The decision of the team will be final including the allocation of a particular site within the Market Table. Stallholders that are eligible and accept the variation to their licenced site to trade in the Market Table will also be required to agree to a quality audit to verify information provided as part of the EOI.  

EOI’s will close at 5pm on Sunday 22nd of September 2024.  Eligible stallholders will be notified of the outcome of their application by Friday 4th of October 2024.

*The costs from 1 July 2025 will reflect the Salamanca Market Fees and Charges 2025-26.
